The chassis of this pickup is shared with the Trailblazer. The Colorado rides on a double-wishbone front suspension, and a solid axle rear suspension. The wheels on this truck range from a 16-inch to 18-inch size.

Powertrain options on the Colorado start with a 2.5L engine with a 4x2 drivetrain. This setup is capable of 163 hp with 380 Nm of torque. As the entry-level offering, it remains powerful enough for day to day tasks. A better engine awaits the LT trim, and up An engine capable of 200 hp, 500 Nm of torque is available and can be paired with a six-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. This is also the engine with 4x4 options in the variant lineup.
